The Fall
Adieu, to those long summer days!
Here, comes the cold chill in the air.
Sunscreens, from the hot sunny days,
Replaced with moisturizer, to avoid tear.
Carefree, beach slippers in all colours,
Swapped with long stylish boots.
Cool lemonades, with so many flavors,
Replaced with hot lemon and ginger roots.
Pumpkin spice lattes in every size,
Have paved their way, back into Starbucks!
The light cottons, showing belly’s,
Replaced with thick woolen weaves, to tuck.
Change is inevitable, they say!
Just like the changing season breeze,
Change brings something new, every day,
Sometimes, making your emotions freeze!
Seasons may come and go,
My love for you remains evergreen!
Green leaves on trees,
Changing, into these myriad of hues,
And I stand here, with unchanged views.
Wow! Wonderful portrayal of the fall. I liked this poem but don’t you think our views change too as we time passes?
