Gombe Habba or Golu festival is celebrated during Navrathri. After coming to USA, had missed celebrating this festival. I have these fond memories of my mom celebrating this festival by placing dolls, and preparing sweets and savouries for 10 days. But after coming to USA, I had no option of celebrating this festival, golu dolls were pretty costly to purchase online, this motivated me to make my own golu dolls. In this post have brought you more information on the materials I used to make and finish these dolls. I started doing my research on Golu dolls and made Handmade Golu Clay as well as Golu wooden dolls.
Today have brought you more information on Handmade Golu wooden dolls. I have always been inspired by Channapatana wooden dolls, and wanted my own set for the Navrathri, but as usual in the place I stay it’s either unavailable, or pretty costly with International shipping. So decided to make my own set of wooden dolls. So, when I researched, I found these unfinished wooden dolls in Michael’s store which could be transformed into dolls of my choice. I finished these Dolls with Acrylic paints and Acrylic Gloss.
