Dasara is around the corner. How are you guys decking up? After coming to USA, had missed celebrating this festival. I have these fond memories of my mom celebrating this festival by placing dolls, and preparing sweets and savouries for 10 days.

More information on Observing Mangala Gowri festival. This pooja is performed on tuesdays of the Hindu month of Shravana, july-august according to gregorian calendar. This year shravana masa is from 3rd August to 1st September, tuesdays of this month are 9th August, 16th August, 23 August and 30th August.

Bheemana Amavasya

I stay in Seattle,USA and this is my way of staying connected to my roots and in fact I enjoy, celebrating these festivals. It brings memories untold from your motherland.
Bheemana Amavasya is also celebrated as Jyothirbheemeshwara Vratha. This is an important festival celebrated in Karnataka and is observed on the New Moon Day(Amavasya).
