Akki/ Rice Thambittu is a sweet dish prepared using rice flour. This is ussually prepared in different parts of Karnataka during festivals such as Mangala Gowri Vratha and Nagar Panchami. its made as Naivedya during these festivals and also to make Deepas for Aarthi during Mangala Gowri Vratha.

Then strain the water and spread on a cloth and let it dry.
Once the rice grains dry, grind rice to a flour.
Then add the flour to a cooking pot and roast the flour for 3 minutes stirring continiously, then remove it on to a plate.
Add jaggery and water to the same cooking pot and let the jaggery melt.
Once the jaggery melts strain the liquid to remove any impurities in Jaggery.
Keep the syrup back on heat and add ghee to the syrup and stir nicely.
Now add flour slowly, and during which dont forget to continiously stir the mixture, so that you incorporate all the flour into the syrup and there are no lumps formed. Stir to form a dough.
Remove from heat and start tieing balls to make deepas.
